Back To The Future Part VI: A Mask Hatter Movie Plot

What is the one thing you thing when you hear the word “Delorian.” Some people would think about looking like a badass driving in it. I tend to think thou is 2.11 Gigawats. Yes I know that word “Flux Capacitor” still makes me think about time travel. Many people love movies that invovle time travel like “Terminator”, “The Time Machine”, and “Clockstoppers”, but the one movie that I believe tops them all is the ”Back to the Future” trilogy. All three were amazing but they refuse to make anymore. The main reason is because Michael Fox is still suffering from his illness and doesn’t look like he would be able to make it with him in it, but who said you needed him in it? Yes it would be like grilling with out a gril but hey, its worth a try.

Story starts out in current time. A roudy teenager has a rough life (just so he has a name call him Sam Brown). Family is pathetic, no money, no nothing just like Marty in the first movie. The only thing is that he is super smart in physics. Suddenly Sam starts to notice someone following him. He soon gets a call from a man that says he can turn his life around and all he has to do is meet him somewhere. He soon finds out that the man is Dr. Emmett Brown, his long lost  great great grandfather from 200 years ago (the year 1885, since this was the year that he was last seen). Emmett than explans how this can be but Sam still doesn’t believe it, so he gives him a demonstration using a new delorian. He soon agrees to listen even more.

The story than forms from that where Sam gos back in time by himself (still trying to figure out what will happen to the new Doc that talks to him). His mission is go back in time to 1985 and help cause the car accident that Marty was supposed to crash into. This is crutial because without that car marty and Jennifer would not have the life they have in the present time. but the car that he was supposed to hit is actually the grandpa of Sam Brown. Only problem Sam has with this is that he doesn’t get along with his grandfather at all since it is his fault that his future is so crappy. So Sam has to go back in time 3 days before the incident. During that time he gets wrapped up in the past just like Marty did back in 1955 by wreaking the delorian when he arrives there and causing a scene.  He soon has to set things stright along side Doc in 1985 to insure the future isnt torn apart and repair the time machine to get him … .I just love to say it…BACK TO THE FUTURE!

This is probably one of the worst movie plots i have had in a long time but I believe it is a sortive lagit story line. Like I say with all my movie plots I write, the odds of this happening is 100000000 to 1, but we can all hope atleast that some day they would actually make Back to the Future Part IV so we can see that Flux Capacitor one more time.

Friday the 13’s Movie Battle

There are a few movies this month that seemed to interest me. The first one is “The Other Guys.” Seeing that it has one of my favorite comedic actors and one of my favorite action actors, this movie I feel might pull off movie of the month. Others might be thinking about 2 other movies. The two we have heard about all summer that seems amazing and ironically they both come out on friday the 13th. The two I am talking about is “Scott Pillgrum Vs. The World” and “The Expendables.” Here is how I see these movies coming off.

First SP. I think the movie looks good. Seems like a fairly good movie with a good story and everything. But some people arnt going to see it because of the corniness in the movie like the comic book action words like “pow!”, “whip!” and bam!” I understand the concept that the director is trying to pull off and I feel like the movie is going to be good but when people think its going to be corny, they aint going to see it unless it gets great reviews from their friends.

Now Expendables. God save me from everyone that is going to want to kill me for this but i personally don’t believe its going to be the best movie. Trailer looks amazing and the cast is amazing but that is the kicker. Most movies that I know that has a largely known cast spends more money on the actors than they do the film its self. So I have a sense of seeing a crappy action movie with a lot of known people. I am NOT saying that its going to suck, I AM planning on seeing it still cause I would like to see what its like. Its just I have a strange feeling about it.

Both look great. Do they have the qualities to be in this summers top 10? Mabey. Are they going to be best of the year. no. i know its early but I already know its true. Which one is going to win Box office gross? not a clue. Its either going to be one or the other, truly i am feeling the expendables because it seems like the trailer seemed more appealing than SP. Only time will tell but just like on Friday the 13th, somebody is going to get slaughtered and only time will tell.

Dinner For Schmucks: Masked Hatter Movie Review

I know it has been quite sometime since my last movie review but the past weeks movies just haven’t been too appealing. I didn’t even think the movies that are out right now seem very interesting, but i cannot fight my urge of watching movies in theaters. When i first saw the trailer for “Dinner For Schmucks” not going to lie i thought is was going to be one of the stupidest movie to be released for the summer. After watching it thou I have to change my mind about it due to the gravity of how funny it is.

The movie is about Tim (Paul Rudd) who is trying to make a name for himself in his business job. When he finally has the chance he has only one thing he has to do. Find a idiot and bring them to a dinner to make fun of them. Tim and his girlfriend is against this but Tim still wants the job. When he almost gives up the dinner for his girlfriend he finds his idiot, by hitting him with his car. He meets Barry (Steve Carell) a IRS agent who has a hobie of making replicas of art using dead mice. Slowly over time after their meeting Barry starts making Tims life a living hell. After Barry helps in making Tims girlfriend leave him by accident, they begin a long and grueling 2 days of trying to save their relationship, keeping his job and getting to the dinner to get his long desired promotion.

The movie like I predicted came off a little stupid at parts but there was still plenty of funny parts throughout the entire movie. I would like to think that the movie left you with the feeling of WTF. Everone has experieced this in somepoint or another where you just sit back and say “why in the hell would you do this” or “WTF.” but it is because of these points that help add more to the comedy tothe film. The film also has a really good moral lesson to it like almost all the movies that Paul Rudd is in like “I love you man” and ”Role Models.” Overall I believe that Dinner For Schmucks is probably the funniest movies of the summer so far.

Mortal Kombat: Rebirth. True or not?
A couple of months ago there was a trailer released into the interwebs that was being called "Mortal Kombat Rebirth." I am not for sure if this is true or not. The supposed trailer is 8 min. long. I cant say i have seen it all the way though but what i have seen has been simply amazing. People say it is a fake just like the "Legend of Zelda Movie" that IGN made about 5 years ago for a april fools joke. IMDB.com says that it is a movie but i do not know for sure. Share you inputs on this and tell me if you know sumthing that i do not know.

Movie Release’s for July 23

There are only two movies that are comming out this weekend that are well known but sadly im not very interested in either of them. The first one is “Salt” with Angelina Jolie. This movie dosent look bad but it just have a feeling this movie is going to be a flop, the only person you can blam for that is the people who made the trailers because it dosent really tell you much (but then again look at Inception). All I got out of it is this girl is framed and she likes to do a buch of crazy stunts.

The other movie this week is Romona and Beezus. All I can say is “no.” Dont know, dont care. Like i said, both of these moives are the only new ones that come out friday but if you do want to go see a movie I would say either Inception (most probably) or Sorcerer’s Apprientice. If you have the kids take them to Despicable Me. Read my reveiws and see which one you would be more interested and keep checking back here for older movie reivews I might possibly post.

Masked Hatter Movie Word of The Week: Copy Plot

Many people have never heard of this term and it might have other names for it. Copy Plot is movies that are released around the same time and have very similar plots to each other. A great example of this is the movies “Killers” and “Knight and Day.” Both movies have the same similar plots: a secret agent falls in love and things get crazy when people come to kill them for it. Of course they are not the exact same movie plot but they are very similar to each other. Another example hasn’t been fully completed yet. It is the kids films “Despicable Me” and “Mega mind.” Once again, both movies have similar plots: Criminals trying to take over the world but end up getting their lives turned up side down. They are two different plots but have the same base. That is your movie word of the week.

Despicable Me: Masked Hatters Movie Review

Not gonna lie, its been a long time since I have seen a kids movie. Not that I don’t like them but I don’t want to be that creeper in the back of the theater. The last kids movie I saw was Despicable Me and Toy Story 3. I think everyone can back me up when I say Toy Story 3 won just because it has been a part of our lives ever since we were little. Im not saying Despicable Me was a bad movie, it was a great movie with a good voice cast. The mixture of Steve Carell and Peter Segel with their unrecognizable voices and great comedic personalities really pulls this off to a great movie.

Unlike most of the kids movies you see today about heros, and warriors, and toys this  movie was about a criminal. Gru (Steve Carell) is a man on a mission be the greatest thief in the world. Along with his hundreds of little minions that no one can understand and his private scientist Dr.Nefario that often cant hear what your saying, they work together to rule the world. When Gru finds out that a new nemesis of his named Vector (Peter Segel) just pulled of the crime of the century Gru feels like he must top if off by stealing the moon. But before he can do that he has to steal a shrink ray from Vector, from his highly defend house but Vector has one weakness. Girl Scout Cookies. So Gru than adopts 3 little girls to help him steal the shrink ray.

Gru succeeds with his mission but now he must steal the moon and in the meantime keep the girls from destroying his life. But overtime Gru starts to get feelings for these girls and starts to care for them more like a father. Between the girls and his mission he has to decided which one is more important and choose before Vector tries to put matters into his own hands. Between the funny moments with the kids, the minions and Dr. Nefarios misunderstandings, all these things help make this movie even more enjoyable.

If I had to give this a rating on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 7.1. It probably would have been higher if I was a kid because some parts were stupid to me but funny to them, but overall the movie was funny, enjoyable and like all kids movies had a good moral value.  Seeing that this seems to be the year of “Copy Plot” movies, I would like to see the movie “Megamind” with Will Ferral and Tia Fay. For those who dosent know what copy plot is check the word of the week. The copy plot between the two movies is the criminal theme. Seeing these two movies with very similar motives would be interesting to see which one tops off as best.
